ARIANA INCOMPLETE
 
I have no idea what brought about the idea of the title Ariana Incomplete. The funny part is the name Ariana comes from the Spartans cheerleader skit on Saturday Night Live. Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri. Her character was named Ariana. That musta stuck in my brain somehow.
The title always sounded like a robot. Like someone who is so awesome but the more you get to know them the more you realize there's something a little off about them.
That song is kinda written about that rebound person we've all had. You care a great deal about them but it can never be more than what it was.
There's a selfishness to the song that can't be denied. You took the pain away, you put me back together then I broke you anyway. Also, you sucked the poison out, you nursed me back to health and then I broke you anyway.
There were some R rated lyrics that kept it from being any kind of single but I refused to change it. It was extremely raw and truthful that way.
I've been playing it again in the Sin City Sinners so the song lives on.
I know of a few babies born in the early 2000s named Ariana after that song. That's an awesome feeling.
Not my babies, mind you! No Maury paternity tests for me, thank you very much!
