WRAPPED IN CELLOPHANE

Wrapped In Cellophane was written on the couch in my living room in the Holly Lodge (cool old apartment building in downtown Vancouver) in the middle of the night. It was much longer originally. The chorus section was originally a pre chorus which led to another section but I trimmed the fat back to make it how it is.
It's one of my favorite songs I ever wrote. We had a long jam outro section which went on and on. We were tranced out by the groove. It was sort of an homage to Can't You Hear Me Knockin' my fave Stones song from Sticky Fingers which also has a crazy long outro.
We faded back up at the end like Thank You by Zeppelin or I Love It Loud by KISS.
Somewhere there is video footage of us recording this song.
It's a schitzophrenic song with a conversation between me and myself-
"You remind me of someone I used to know-Hey! Didn't you used to be me?"
"When I find myself I'll be sure to pass the message on to me"
Live we would jam a bit of Rumble by Link Wray (instrumental popularized on Pulp Fiction) before starting Cellophane.
Haven't played this song since SIS closed shop. I still love it. I considered doing it acoustically but it's pretty vast and don't know how well it would translate.

Excuse my reach I’m grabbing at straws
Just anything
Pardon me, I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure
Hey, you mean to say you don’t remember me?
I think I do
Hey, didn’t you used to be me?
My memory, selective a broken sieve
Wrap me in cellophane
I don’t want to rot and spoil again
Wrap me in cellophane
I beg your...What?
But haven’t we met somewhere before
Charmed, I’m sure
I just can’t seem to place the face
You remind me of someone I used to know
When I find myself
I’ll be sure to pass the message on to me
Don’t blame me, can’t promise anything
If you see me, give me my regards
You speak in schitzophonic:
Ask but never answer, change is everywhereThis conversation is over
