TODD KERNS TOURS WORLD RETURNS TO CONQUER VANCITY

Current Bass Player for Slash & Former Frontman of the Age of Electric headlines homecoming show August 25.

It's been a long time since Todd Kerns walked the hallowed stages of Vancouver. Five years to be exact. Once a staple in Vancouver's rock community he could be seen playing everywhere with CanCon legends Age of Electric back in the 90s to every live music venue this city had, fronting Static in Stereo and bringing the rawk with his solo project. And then after a decades worth of live performances and album releases in his home and native land, Kerns disappeared.

After making a run for the border Kerns wound up in Las Vegas where he settled in with local rock group the Sin City Sinners. Things truly kicked into high gear for Kerns last spring when got the call from his long time friend and the drummer for Slash (Guns N Roses,Velvet Revolver) and asked if he could be in Los Angeles the next day, Slash was in need of a bass player for his upcoming solo album tour. A few rehearsals later and Kerns' life is now a blur of festivals, stadiums, airplanes and hotel rooms.

It's been awhile but with a brief time out from touring the world Kerns is now bringing a bit of the bad old days back to Vancouver at The Media Club on Thursday August 25th. Getting the band back together he'll be backed by "The Todd Squad", bassist Squid and drummer Dayvid Swart. And as if that wasn't enough, the special guest and opener for the evening will be local rock mystery Nim Vind fresh off his own successful European tour. Truly a line up for local rock scene appreciators who're ready to kick out the jams and welcome Kerns back to Vancouver.

Tickets will be available for sale in advance at likefoundlike.com for $10 or at the door for $12 while supplies last. Get em early!

This is just to give everyone an update on Todd's condition. As we all know from Todd's blog, he underwent surgery for a retinal detachment of his right eye on July 17th. He wants everyone to know that he is recuperating well, but will still be out of commission for a couple more weeks.

Due to the lengthy recovery time for Todd to be 100% again, he will not be completing the Asia/Australia leg of the Slash Tour and will not be playing any Sin City Sinners shows during this time frame. This is an unfortunate must as we all know Todd likes to keep busy.

He will not be communicating much as well. We all know that with any eye injury, looking at a computer screen is not fun. So we all wish him the best of luck and hope for a speedy recovery.

On Saturday May 8^th SIN CITY SINNERS will have a premiere party for their brand new video “Goin’ To Vegas. The party will take place @ Ovation (inside Green Valley Ranch) and is hosted by Adult Film Legend Ron Jeremy. This event is FREE and open to everyone. Doors open @ 10pm

The video will be shown on 3 large screens and then will be available on You Tube after midnight for the rest of the world to see.

Officially finished mixing Exile On Fremont Street. Gonna sit on it for a couple days then begin the mastering process. After that it's off to manufacturing so it will be ready for it's February 13/14th release date. Some amazing people helped to make this happen-Kurt Frohlich, Kevin and Kane Churko, Tom Parnham, Vinnie Paul and of course my fellow Sinners and our manager, Jason.

In the home stretch now. Just finished a punishing mix of Probable Cause and moving on to the Brent Muscat masterpiece Big Time Superstar. Epic is the only word for that one.

Played multiple AVN Awards shows last week. Jammed with Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter from Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers. Played the Public Enemy classic 911 Is A Joke with Flava Flav. Flav loves weed. Of course Sir Ron Jeremy was the MC.

Valentines Day 2010 is the official release date for Exile On Fremont Street. Valentines Day Massacre indeed.

Back to the rock mines. If you don't hear from me in a week just wait longer.

Brothers and Sisters, I hope 2010 is a most prosperous year for all of you.
It promises to be a busy one for those of us on Planet Sinner. Exile On Fremont Street, the debut cd from The Sin City Sinners, will be on the streets before the end of January which will springboard us into a whirlwind of activity.
